Support the bees
A keeper gives something back.
There is a bee in our logo and a keeper in our name. That comes with a promise.
Once we have welcomed our first BIEKeeper clients, we will build our own BIEhome: a real beehive, buzzing with real bees. Our software helps teams look after their stock. With our BIEhome, we want to look after the bees that look after so much of our food and nature.
Why bees matter
Small insects, a very big job
Bees carry pollen from flower to flower. Without that work, many fruits, vegetables, nuts and wild plants would not grow.
of food crops
More than three quarters of the world’s food crops depend, at least partly, on pollination.
of flowering plants
About nine in ten flowering plants need pollination to reproduce, which keeps whole ecosystems going.
bee species
There are close to 20,000 bee species worldwide. Only 7 of them are honeybees: wild bees do a large share of the work.
wild bees in Belgium at risk
Of the roughly 400 bee species recorded in Belgium, more than half are threatened, near threatened or already gone from the country.
Our plan
From first clients to our BIEhome
Grow BIEKeeper
We onboard our first clients and help them get their stock under control.
Build our BIEhome
With those first clients on board, we set up our own beehive.
Share the story
We will share here how our bees are doing, season by season.
You can help too
Simple ways to support bees
Plant native flowers that bloom from spring to autumn.
Leave a corner of your garden or company grounds unmown.
Avoid pesticides on flowers and lawns.
Give wild bees a place to nest, like a bee hotel or bare, sunny soil.
